What a remarkable start to July it was! As the photographer for Megan and Missy's wedding at the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort, I had the immense pleasure of witnessing and capturing every moment of their special day!

Before the ceremony began, Megan and Missy shared a heartwarming first look. The joy and love on their faces as they saw each other for the first time that day was absolutely priceless.

Before the ceremony, we ventured into the stunning surroundings of Whitefish Mountain Resort for some bridal party portraits. Megan and Missy, along with their bridal party, were beaming as they posed against the picturesque mountain backdrop.

As a photographer, I always strive to offer a comprehensive photography experience for weddings. In addition to capturing the bridal party moments, I also make sure to provide opportunities for family and couple photos. These photos serve as cherished mementos for couples and their loved ones, especially for those who choose Whitefish as their destination wedding location, offering them a unique and memorable souvenir of their special day.

Surrounded by 50 of their closest friends and family, Megan and Missy exchanged vows against the stunning backdrop of Glacier National Park's majestic mountains.

As Megan and Missy's wedding day transitioned into evening, the festivities continued with a unique journey down to the base lodge for their reception. Riding the chairlift down to the village and then taking the alpine slide down to the base lodge added an extra touch of adventure to their special day.

Inside the base lodge the reception kicked off with laughter, love, and plenty of dancing. The celebration stretched into the evening hours, as Megan and Missy, along with their guests, enjoyed every moment of their mountain wedding experience at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

One of the highlights of the evening was the reception slideshow, a signature feature of my photography services. While everyone was enjoying dinner, I created a slideshow from the day's events and displayed it on a crisp, large-screen Mac. Family and friends were thrilled by the immediacy of it – reliving wedding day highlights while raising a glass of champagne in celebration!

Kind Words from the couple:

Polly was phenomenal! She captured our wedding beautifully! She was very flexible, especially with our day after session at Glacier! It was great getting to know Polly and see her doing what she loves and executing her speciality. We were so glad she could be a part of our special day and could capture our memories that will last a lifetime. She gives 110% making sure to capture all angles (even if that means laying on the floor haha) . She knows the area near Glacier and Whitefish like no other and is a local, which is great to add and it shows in her experience.

Jordan and Baily

February 27, 2023

Eloping on top of a mountain in Whitefish, Montana takes a special kind of couple and by special I mean tough as nails!

My couples may look warm in the photos, but don't kid yourself, it is cold! It is all worth it getting to say "I DO" on top of the world surrounded by all of  the beauty Montana has to offer.

The day began with a cold ride up chair one to the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort.  When eloping at the Summit of any mountain, especially one known for some pretty intense weather, you must be flexible.  I had back up plans to my back up plans depending on what the weather would bring.

This particular February 27 , Mother Nature treated us to cold, snow, fog, wind and finally a beautiful ray of sunshine!

Baily and Jordan just rolled with the punches. They are seriously the most chill, fun, relaxed and loving couple. Nothing seems to phase them, they simply go with the flow. This is a true sentiment to how they live life daily and how I believe they will continue to live life together.

The summit was a bit foggy and windy, so we went with plan b.   We took a short walk to a spot nestled between the snow ghosts that had a peak a boo view of the mountains that surround.  The trees blocked the gusty wind and the ceremony began.

Sarah Harding gave a beautiful ceremony filled with love, laughter and of course 'I do's'

The Couple

After the ceremony we headed into the summit house for a quick warm up and the signing of the marriage license.   We then headed back outside where we were greeted by the sun!   We hopped onto our skis and snowboards and headed to a different location on the mountain to capture some epic photos.

We decided to stop half way down the run Inspiration-  the name says it all!  We had views for miles and the iconic Great Northern Mountain stood snowcapped in the background.  We unstrapped our skis and boards and had a magical photo session on the side of the ski run!

The mountain was not busy at all this cool February day.  We felt like we had the entire mountain to ourselves.    They danced across the snow together with all of the beauty this unforgettable day provided.

We ended the day with an amazing shred down the mountain to the Base Lodge.  Everything about this day was perfection.  I truly love being a part of all of my couples' special days.  Knowing I am creating and capturing memories that they will pass down from generation to generation is something that I take very seriously, but have a blast doing it!

As I have said many many times before....a couple that shreds together stays together!

Love my job.....love my couples!

Kind words from the couple:

"Polly was amazing to work with. She is extremely talented, professional, warm hearted and knows the mountains like the back of her hand. We highly recommend Polly and Mountain Life Photography! She was an absolute pleasure to work with!"

Winter days in the Flathead come in many different forms.  You can have fog, rain, snow, sleet, sub zero temps and every so often you can see the sun!  On this warm January day the sun gave a little peak though the clouds and laid its light on the mountains giving Riley and Ashley the perfect Montana day to say 'I do'.

The wedding took place at the Ashley Creek Historic Venue at the Snowline Acres in Kalispell.

The two of them were relaxed and the day was like a dream.  Everything was perfect!

Ashley and her bridal party got ready in the Guest House on the Snowline Acres Property.  Ashley is very creative and added so many fun and unique elements to the wedding day which are detailed below.

THE BRIDE

Riley and his groomsman got ready upstairs at the Historic Ashley Creek Venue.

THE GROOM

They chose to do a first look.  I love when couples elect to do this- it's very intimate and couples get to have a moment to really soak it in!  Riley's expression is priceless!

The Bridal Party

Loving their portrait session before the ceremony.  I can literally hear Riley laughing in the first photo.  These two have so much love and respect for each other.  The day was so relaxed and full of laughter.  A couple that laughs together stays together!

The Ceremony

Taking place in the Historic Snowline Acres Venue, the ceremony was beautiful, and the venue, composed of tight-grain old-growth wood, glowed in the photos.  The building was originally built in 1939 as the Kalispell Lumber Co. Building.

The Couple

It was a true winter wonderland wedding celebration at Snowline Acres in Kalipell Montana.  The evening was filled with dancing, cake, conversation and celebrating.  I am certain these two will have a fun filled life together overflowing with adventure and most certainly laughter.

Venue: Glacier Raft and Glacier National Park

Officiant:  Audrey Hyvonen Bespoke Ceremonies Montana

Adventure:  Red Bus Tour

The day was perfect as Traci and Kyle said their vows under the big blue Montana sky..... and not a minute too soon as they had planned to explore Glacier National Park on a Red Bus Tour after the ceremony.....and the Going to the Sun Road opened less then 24 hours before they said 'I do'.

The wedding ceremony took place at Glacier Raft Company nestled on the hillside outside of Glacier National Park.

After the wedding ceremony we all headed to Glacier National Park to start our adventure up the Going to the Sun road on the famous Red Bus Tour.   We stopped along the way at Lake McDonald in West Glacier, Big Bend along the road and Logan Pass, to capture and create these amazing memories that will certainly last a lifetime!

The Bride and her gorgeous bridesmaids and the rain slowly begins....

The Groom and his Groomsman and a little more rain....

The rain blew past.  The entire wedding party and family were greeted by the most beautiful rainbow

The Ceremony - the smoke lifted, the rain cleared and the sun shined

After the ceremony we explored the summit of Whitefish Mountain in search of fall colors- the huckleberry bushes were on fire and the sky was magnificent.  From sun, wind, rain, clouds to rainbows the day was perfection.

The Grand Entrance - Escorted down the mountain via a chairlift and an alpine slide

The Reception was held at the Base Lodge and a great time was had by all!

The first dance was a tear jerker....along with father daughter, mother son and grand daughter first dance....Ugh, my view finder was a tad bit fogged by the end.
